This four-piece unit delivers tight, high-energy performances blending Blues Rock, Country Blues, and Bluegrass Blues, with songs inspired by the deep roots of Americana. The band is committed to music that pulls people in - and gets them on their feet and dancing. Guitarist Bob Deforge brings a diversity of playing styles, from driving R&B rhythms to subtle blues lines, and adds soulful vocals to the mix. Fiddler Sam Baumel offers a unique sound to blues classics, ranging from traditional fiddle to new tones reminiscent of harmonica, keys, and slide guitar. The band is anchored by a powerful rhythm section consisting of John Wyatt, a dynamic bassist, and Marc Zoellner an “in the pocket” drummer, who also sings lead on many songs. New Legacy Blues delivers its brand of electric blues with the passion and integrity of a group that has spent decades refining its craft. Hailing from Richmond, Virginia, Dr. Tobias Keene brings a bit of unabashed Southern hospitality to all his patients. He moved to Washington, D.C. over thirty years ago as a freshman at Ivy College. Right after graduation, he attended World University’s School of Dentistry. Before opening Keene Dental in 1994, he worked for free clinics and some of the finest practices in the District. He is part of the 123 Dental Association and stays up-to-date on the latest dental discoveries. His first violin lesson was at age 4…delivered by his father, a concert violinist. Raised on classical, ‘60’s AM radio, and ‘70’s classic rock, he got his first electric fiddle in high school and played into his late 20’s. After a two-decade hiatus, he returned to performing in 2015. With early influences that include Motown, Johnny Winter, Led Zeppelin and Humble Pie…blues has always been core to his style. His style is influenced by Steve Gadd, John Bonham, & Buddy Rich. Over the years Marc has shared the stage with BJ Thomas, J. Geils, and Travis Tritt.
