About the Band
New Legacy Blues was formed by seasoned musicians in the Washington DC metropolitan area to bring a modern sound to classic blues.
This four-piece unit delivers tight, high-energy performances blending Blues Rock, Country Blues, and Bluegrass Blues, with songs inspired by the deep roots of Americana. The band is committed to music that pulls people in - and gets them on their feet and dancing.
Guitarist Bob Deforge brings a diversity of playing styles, from driving R&B rhythms to subtle blues lines, and adds soulful vocals to the mix.
Fiddler Sam Baumel offers a unique sound to blues classics, ranging from traditional fiddle to new tones reminiscent of harmonica, keys, and slide guitar.
The band is anchored by a powerful rhythm section consisting of John Wyatt, a dynamic bassist, and Marc Zoellner an “in the pocket” drummer, who also sings lead on many songs.
New Legacy Blues delivers its brand of electric blues with the passion and integrity of a group that has spent decades refining its craft. The band is available for performances throughout the Mid-Atlantic region.
